President Message

Well, it appears that you are finally rid of me as President! I’ll still be around as the Past President and definitely hope to see you at future reunions at Fort Sill and at our off-sites. I cannot believe that my tenure as President is ending after four plus years. Marilyn and I have enjoyed getting to better know many of the members of the Association during three reunions at Fort Sill (to include the 100th Birthday in 2018) and the reunions in Glen Falls, NY and Cleveland, OH. The best times have been with the HARD CHARGERS and their significant others in the hospitality rooms and consuming pitchers of beer or bottles of wine long after the evening meal concluded.

Dan Mitchell, Rob Roshell, 1/30 FA, and my wife Marilyn did a great job planning for everyone to come to Fort Sill in June and then September of this year, but the COVID19 pandemic made the Board reconsider this gathering. We have deferred on the side of safety and health of our Hardchargers and cancelled the 2020 reunion.

We will miss the comraderie of the Hardchargers this year, but we still needed to accomplish two items of business: The election of new officers and a site for our reunion next year. The Board considered several individuals and locations. I am pleased to announce the LTC (Retired) Terry Hilt (Commander of the 1-30 FA from 2018-2020) has agreed to be the President of the Association. He will bring more youth and enthusiasm into our Association. The Board also decided that with all the preliminary work that C.P. Maloney has done in the Tucson AZ area, to go with his recommendation of Tucson, AZ, as the site of our 2021 reunion. Terry Hilt will help with the Kansas City venue as the 2021 reunion site, if C.P. runs into any issues that he cannot resolve.

Thanks for all you do and hope to see you in Tucson, AZ in 2021. God bless you!

I have included part of the basic charter for the 30th FA Regiment Association with some of our accomplishments:
